Digital Intelligence Leading the Future – The First Academic Summit Forum of the Nanjing Innovation Research Institute Successfully Held!


From July 5 to 7, the "Digital Intelligence Leading the Future – The First Academic Summit Forum of the Nanjing Innovation Research Institute" successfully concluded in Hangzhou. This forum was hosted by the Nanxun Innovation Research Institute, China and Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, China; co-organized by the College of Water Science, College of Electrical Engineering, College of Information Engineering, and College of Mechanical Engineering of the same institution; it was also jointly supported by the College of Electric Machinery of  Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power, China and AEIC Academic Exchange Information Center.

The forum focused on discussions in the fields of "Intelligent Manufacturing," "Smart Energy," and "Intelligent Systems," exploring how to leverage digital intelligence technology to lead the future and achieve the goals of intelligent and sustainable development. During the opening ceremony, Vice Dean Zhu Chuanhui of the Nanjing Innovation Research Institute chaired the meeting, and Professor Mei Congli, Executive Vice Dean of the institute, delivered a speech.

During the event, we welcomed numerous representatives from educational institutions and enterprises related to power systems and electrical engineering from across the country. Presentations were given by Professor Chen Qian from Jiangsu University, Professor She Qingshan from Hangzhou Electronics University, Dr. Zheng Junqiang from Nantong University, Professor Cai Jianping from Zhejiang Water Resources and Hydropower College, Associate Professor Huang Wentao from Jiangnan University, Associate Professor Zafar Said from Sharjah University, Associate Professor Wu Zhenlong from Zhengzhou University, and Associate Professor Sheng Lei from Shanghai University of Technology.


The forum included one main session, two sub-sessions, one poster presentation, and two special oral report sessions. On the morning of July 6, in the main session, we welcomed Professor Chen Qian from Jiangsu University, Professor Cai Jianping from Zhejiang Water Resources and Hydropower College, Professor She Qingshan from Hangzhou Electronics University, and Dr. Zheng Junqiang from Nantong University, who delivered keynote speeches titled "Design Theory and Methods for Low-Torque Pulsating Permanent Magnet Motors for Robots," "Research on Backstepping Control of Nonlinear Systems with Non-Triangular Structural Uncertainty," "Field Adaptive Research for Emotion Brain-Machine Interfaces," and "Spatial Harmonic Analysis and Low Harmonic Design of Permanent Magnet Fault-Tolerant Motors," respectively.

On the afternoon of July 6, two sub-sessions—the 3rd International Academic Conference on Power Systems and Energy Technology (ICPSET 2024) and the 4th International Academic Conference on Electrical Engineering and Mechatronic Technology (ICEEMT 2024)—were held simultaneously. During this time, Associate Professor Huang Wentao from Jiangnan University, Associate Professor Zafar Said from Sharjah University, Associate Professor Wu Zhenlong from Zhengzhou University, and Associate Professor Sheng Lei from Shanghai University of Technology gave keynote speeches titled "Open-Circuit Fault-Tolerant Control Research for Five-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors," "Stability and Thermophysical Properties of Nanofluids in Heat Transfer Applications," "Anti-Disturbance Control of Large Thermal Power Units," and "Liquid Cooling Thermal Safety Management Research for Lithium-Ion Battery Energy Storage," respectively.

In addition, the forum featured a poster display showcasing 15 recent research achievements in related fields from across the country. During the oral report sessions, 13 scholars from various research institutions presented their findings.

With this, the First Academic Summit Forum of the Nanjing Innovation Research Institute successfully concluded. This meeting not only provided a platform for sharing the latest research results and development trends but also laid a solid foundation for future scientific cooperation, project collaboration, and talent exchange. By leveraging this international academic event, we have established a broader network for academic exchange and cooperation, further promoting the development of the fields of power engineering, energy technology, electrical engineering, and mechatronics. Finally, let us look forward to gathering again next year to explore new heights in technology frontiers and contribute wisdom and strength to the prosperous development of this field!
